Decent app for news, but terribly inaccurate compared to other sources when it comes to weather delays and cancellations

If you want silence and and black screen the majority of the time, this is the app for you

The latest update is improved but still missing some key details and continues to be messy/complex to use. That dew points aren't shown on the main screen (why make us dig for such basic data) and no pinpoint location tracking available make this much less of useful resource. Both are there at a glance on other local weather apps. While you can have your current location shown that requires you turning on location tracking for the whole app and is only available for where you are, not for other locations you may be tracking. Your app has too much scrolling or clicking to separate pages. A few iterations ago you had a great app, not now. The NBC CT weather team has long been the best in the area and I hope it will continue to be despite losing its diversity with a recent departure with no sign that will change.

It would be nice if you could show how much precipitation or snow we’re going to get on a given day.

Why they changed from a great layout to this dumbed down version is beyond me. The weather app was perfect for all the different ways you wanted to get information. Now it is just slow, awkward, and tedious.

What have you done to Keisha Grant? She looks awful! Please end the attempt to make her into Aunt Jemima !

How can that PFT sound not yet be fixed during commercials? It was for a short time, but until it is again, I’ll be on CBS and FOX!

I open the weather page and the information is hours old and there is a clocking symbol on the screen. Close and return only to find the same thing.

The app is great when it actually opens. 95% of the time I go to use it, the app is frozen when it opens and doesn’t load. I have to constantly close it and open it back up 3-5 times to finally get it to fully load. I’ve even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but that didn’t help either. My mother has the same problem with app so I know it’s not just me.

This app is atrocious. I have to open and close this app like five times just to get the weather to load. It’s slow to load and never loads properly. Please invest in the app so it’s at least useable because it’s quite literally the most annoying experience and there are several reviews that say the same thing. This replicates on multiple different devices.

I like using this app, but for the longest time it's had issues loading the weather data and will just show blank. It often requires several closing and opening again attempts to get it to work. I'm at home on a strong connection so there's no local connectivity issues.

I am a WVIT NBC CT news fan and tune in daily which makes this app even more disappointing! I use it to check weather frequently and it rarely opens correctly the first time. I have to close and reopen it several times until it finally loads correctly. I also have WFSB App, it works much better. I will give this app a little more time to get it right, and if not, WFSB here I come!

I have had to reload this app over and over; it constantly freezes and crashes. Not worth the trouble . News doesn’t load, freezes always.

Not sure what is going on but it takes me about 10 tries to open the app in order to get the actual weather section to load. Been like this for a while now.

I’m constantly trying to open this then closing and trying it again it NEVER works! And it just updated! What’s wrong with this?! I’m deleting and using Weather Channel app at least it doesn’t freeze up! Or I’ll just find a other local news channel

I love this app and use it a lot for the weather and weather alerts and recently it updated and now the alerts are gone! Bring back the weather alerts and I’ll give it 5 stars!

App on iPhone stopped playing live newscast after 1day

I use weather apps to get a brief breakdown of the days weather and a look ahead. I don’t need any of the technical info that goes with this app. I don’t care about humidity, dew points, UV index…… I want a breakdown of each day in a clear concise manner. “How the day starts, temperatures, partly sunny, cloudy, what type of precipitation and how much if any” I don’t use this app for these reasons. I’m not a meteorologist!

For whatever reason, weather portion of app is incomplete. Radar only gives present condition. Used to get past and future radar. Also can’t scroll down to get future forecasts. All I get is a spinning circle. This used to be my favorite local app. Very frustrating.

This app rarely loads. I can’t figure out what the issue is. I delete and reinstall the app and it works great for about 10 mins, then back to not loading. I restart my phone and it works great for 10 mins, then back to not loading.

This app crashes faster than anything I’ve ever seen. Can’t even read a full new story before everything goes blank and nothing comes back nothing reloads. I did use this app for a long time now it’s been deleted from everything I own because it just doesn’t work. No news no weather no anything it just refreshes in refreshers.

App never starts when I open it any more. Very annoying. Can find other news apps that actually work

Used to really like this app (mostly use it for the weather), but for the past few months I have had to close and re-open the app 3-4 times to get the weather tab to load. I enjoy being connected to local news from time to time, but I’m sick of dealing with this poor performance.

With the latest ios, the weather portion of the app works once and then jams the app. I have to delete the app and reinstall every time I want to see the weather page. PLEASE FIX THAT BUG!

Every time I pull up weather it doesn’t load it’s very frustrating

I loved this app when it worked! Stopped working about 2 months ago and reinstalling it and restarting my phone doesn’t help. So disappointing. I miss Bob Macon on demand!

The app freezes up when switching from news to weather. I have to delete and then download again. This has happened many times

You would think that when your done reading a story the ones at the bottom would be other news updates on other stories or what you have missed. Well, I guess they are stories I could have missed, because I’m constantly reading stories that can date back two years. You might not think that’s a big deal if your just reading by yourself and you came across it, but when you read about a deadly traffic crash that shut down the part of the highway that your family drives through and you call them to avoid the area, and they don’t know what I’m talking about because the story was from last year. Or when I’m prepping my vehicle and supplies because there’s an incoming snowstorm “tomorrow morning” that can drop as much as 14”, and when I’m all bundled up in the dark ready to walk out the door there’s not a flake on site nor has anything dropped because the weather report was from 18 months ago. I guess the morale of the story is don’t be curious it will just waste your time

This app keeps freezing so I have to delete and reinstall.

Apps keep hanging when loading on iPhone 8 with the latest OS updates. I tried shutting down and restarting the phone and app, uninstalling and reinstalling, but keeps happening. Aside from this issue, the app is great, just wished it would just work every time.

The app has been crashing on me for 2 weeks. Every time I read the top stories and then switch to the the weather portion it just spins and spins. I close the app. Clear everything. Reopen the app and it still won’t open. I have even deleted and redownloaded the app with the problem happening. I have updated my iPhone to the current version. This has been an ongoing issue since I last updated my phone to 15.1.

The last month or so the app won’t load consistently.

The news coverage is sufficient and timely. I can depend on accuracy and impartiality in the reporting.

I loved the app but I haven’t been able to open it without crashing for the past few weeks. Would love this to be fixed

radar doesn’t load and locks up

Since the last update or two it will not load and open or takes an extremely long time after shutting down once or twice. It was my favorite app for weather and great for news.

The ONLY TV station app that’s guaranteed to play AT LEAST one 30 second commercial. There are better apps that stick you with 10-15 second commercials.

The update from a couple of months ago is actually getting worse with more glitches. The weather map layers haven’t appeared in weeks. When I get them to appear, they disappear when I scroll. I’m now looking for a new weather app.

I like the old app that you had !at least you could read it ! the stinking knew one you can’t read it can’t understand it it’s terrible to small junk !!!

Key note to the success of this app ,because I would have deleted it ASAP!, Is the often paramount aspect of our daily outlook on life .... quick concise notification of events and news “flashes” of pertain importance I.g.-HURRICANE or found dead man in field or HEAT ADVISORY YEAH it’s good 🙂

Constant notifications even though I have them all turned off. What a joke. Deleted.

The newest version sucks……. DONT update your app. Weather used to be easily accessible on the bottom of the app- now it’s hit or miss and you have to take several more steps to get to the weather. Why fix it if it ain’t broke??????

I’m not a fan of the new app and this has been my favorite weather and news app for years. I certainly don’t need news (Olympics) updates all night long, but I can’t find where to turn off news alerts, but keep weather alerts. I also don’t need “rain will start in 22 minutes”, just REAL weather alerts. The weather screens are also not as easy to scan and understand quickly. Please bring back the better functionality of the previous app.

The old adage holds true: if it’s not broken… This use to be my favorite weather app, but unfortunately this is no longer the case. If the opinion of one matters, please bring back the “old” format…or at least provide us the ability to choose which format we’d prefer to utilize. This will probably fall on deaf ears, but it’s worth a shot.
